Morning Session
Reading / Literature
Objective: Develop reading stamina and critical thinking. Confirm your student logs 30 minutes in the Reading Log. Review their summary together and ask what stood out most. Enter notes to be recorded in the Parent/Teacher Account.
Language Arts
Objective: Practice building a structured argumentative essay. Review your student’s essay outline. Ensure they include claim, support, reasoning, and conclusion. Log their draft progress and spelling word work into the PTA. Use the PTA gradebook to track their weekly writing growth.
Math
Objective:Spot-check at least two problems with your student. Verify grid paper is neat and all steps are shown. Record scores from practice problems in the PTA’s grade tracker.
Midday Session
History / Social Studies
Objective: Understand branches of geography. Ask your student to name 3 branches of geography and give an example of each. Mark “discussion completed” in the PTA and note which branch most interested your student.
Science
Objective: Explore the concept of motion and reference points. Encourage your student to connect science to real life (e.g., car speed, sports, walking pace). Add reflection notes in the PTA discussion tracker.
Physical Education
Objective: Build fitness through calisthenics. Observe the exercises and log reps into the P.E. section of the PTA.
Afternoon Session
Visual & Performing Arts
Objective: Learn how perspective drawing affects daily life. Review your student’s drawing and ask how perspective helps in real-world design or art. Enter notes of their work into the PTA.
Spelling / Word Work
Objective: Learn and define weekly spelling words. Quiz your student on 3 random words today. Enter quiz results into the PTA spelling log.
Notes for Parents
- Have ready: lined paper, grid paper, word processor, Reading Log, P.E. Log.
- Ask: “What did you learn today—in science, geography, or art?”
Homework/Extended Learning: Encourage your student to share today’s concepts together in a creative way.
