Prep for the 2025/2026 School Year!

The new school year is almost here, and we’re excited to welcome families back for another year of learning with Discovery K12.

If you’re following our traditional schedule, daily assignments resume Tuesday, September 2nd. But remember—all 180 days of curriculum are available year-round, so you can jump in anytime. Many families are already getting started on their own timeline, and that flexibility is what makes homeschooling with DK12 so effective.

Now’s the time to make sure your student is ready to move up. We recommend taking our Assessment Tests, with results available inside your Parent/Teacher Account to help guide placement and track progress.

It’s also the perfect time to get organized: use the PTA’s built-in tools to finalize transcripts, log attendance, and close out last year before kicking off the new one.

If you’re still enjoying summer break, we hope it’s been a good one—we’ll be here when you’re ready to return.

End-of-Year Assessment Testing!

Now is the time for End-of-Year Assessment Testing!

What does your child know?
Are they at grade level, below, or above?
Are they ready to move to the next level?

As the school year wraps up, it’s the perfect moment to get a clear picture of where your student stands academically. Our built-in Assessment Test is simple, no-prep, and fully online—designed to help you evaluate your child’s understanding of core subjects including spelling, math, history/social studies, and science.

Use the results to see if they’re ready to move on, or if extra review over summer might be helpful. You’ll get instant feedback right inside your Parent/Teacher Account to guide your next steps with confidence.

How to Keep Homeschool Records Using the Parent/Teacher Account

When you homeschool, you’re not just the teacher — you’re also the school administrator. That means you’re responsible for the essentials: attendance, grades, test scores, and transcripts. Whether you’re planning ahead for college or simply staying organized, having complete records matters.

Most states require some level of homeschool documentation. Even if yours doesn’t, tracking progress and keeping transcripts is still a smart move. It helps you stay prepared and reduces stress when it’s time to show academic growth or submit official records.

That’s where the Parent/Teacher Account really shines — especially with the built-in Transcript Generator.

In just a few minutes, you can create a clean, professional transcript. It’s flexible, easy to use, and works with any homeschool setup. Generate semester, quarterly, mid-year, or end-of-year transcripts, and include any courses — whether from DK12 or other programs you’re using.

Once you’ve upgraded, go to the My Students section in your Parent/Teacher Account. You’ll see a “Transcripts” link next to your student’s name. Click it, enter your details, and you’re done. You can create a test transcript inside the PTA to see how it all works!

Ready to simplify transcripts — and everything else?

If you haven’t upgraded to the Parent/Teacher Account yet, now’s the perfect time. It gives you everything you need to manage your homeschool with confidence — from transcripts to grades, attendance, answer keys, certificates, and more.
