What I Learned Today Reading

Reading/Literature
Today, Nana made an account for me on Ducksters, which is great! But, I still had to read a book with her. She chose the book "What Should Danny Do? (The school day version.) I would had to read the first 7 pages, then nana read page 8 and then asked me what Danny should do. So, I had two choices to think about.

What I Learned Today Language Arts

Language Arts
Homophones! These are words that are pronounced the same even though they don't mean the same thing and they aren't even spelled the same. This is kind of weird. The video started with the easiest one since I already knew it (to, too, two), then we stopped the video and nana reminded me of some other words we had already learned such as right and write.

What I Learned Today Math

Math
I had to compare two numbers and know which symbol to use. Nana made me read it like a sentence! I had to read from left to right and fill in the middle with the words "Greater Than" "Less Than" or "Equal To". I had worked on this before with nana a long time ago so today we had to go over it again. This time was when she made me read it like a real sentence. I know the symbols means Greater Than and this symbol = means the 2 numbers are Equal. I know some other math symbols, too, but Nana just keeps telling me anyway.

What I Learned Today History

History/Social Studies
Today, the lesson was about using a Globe and finding the lines of Latitude and Longitude. But I did Social Studies on Ducksters and it was fun! I went to ancient Egypt first and then went to ancient Greece! I had to find seven orbs about each Country before I could leave. I missed one about Egypt but had to come back at the end and do it again. I paid better attention when I listened to stuff about Greece. Our Country got a lot of ideas from Greece.

What I Learned Today Science

Science
Today we talked about Dolphins. I did a session in Ducksters about Dolphins, too. It had a lot to say! Did you know that dolphins can use only half of their brain and open only 1 eye when they need to rest. They never shut down completely because of predators. But they swim around in pods, which means groups. Some pods have up to 6000 in one pod! Did you know that a dolphin can jump about as tall as a house? and they are fast and really smart, especially about how they get food!

What I Learned Today Art

Visual/Performing Arts
I did not color the dolphin page because nana said we should draw it in our sketch pads instead.

What I Learned Today PE

Physical Education
Lots of running, since he thinks he is "The Flash!"

What I Learned Today EC

Extra Curriculum
All of the stuff on www.duckster.com is, or should be considered Extra-Curricular. We did math, science, and social studies, which too about 2 hours! But it is learning but fun, too.
